Harold Wiggs was born, raised, and educated here in the Ozark Mountains and at the tender age of 13, while attending the R4 schools, in Alton, Missouri, had an instructor by the name of Ted Harris who assisted with the project of building an AM radio transmitter. This transmitter was put to use at the school for about two years, as Harold and several school mates kept it on the air during school hours. This was the beginning of something very special as Harold kept the promise, not only to his parents, but to himself to continue in the field of broadcasting. Harold worked, over the years, at several radio stations and after having spent over 45 years at such stations as KALM/KAMS in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, KWTO in Springfield, Missouri, KWOC, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and The Radio Ranch (KTTS) in Springfield, Missouri for over 19 years, left the area.
Harold states, "I moved my wife and family from Ozark, Missouri, in June, 1990, and had made the decision to get out of broadcasting for good, but after being away for so many years, I realized there was a void in my life that needed to be filled. Ron Stillwell from KUNQ radio in Houston, Missouri approached me to ask if I would be interested in producing a Gospel radio program on his station for an hour a week. After a lot of sleepless nights, much prayer, and talking to many of you, our listening audience, we made the decision to go forward."
In March, 2007, 'SUNDAY MORNING'S COUNTRY' became a reality, and has grown from a one hour program to a two hour weekly syndicated radio program heard around the world. Harold says, "I find it hard to believe that God has put me in this position, but he has and I'm more happy with my life than ever. It's a wonderful feeling to know God is in total control and that He is seeing that 'HIS WORD,' is being spread in song around the United States on radio." Wiggs goes on to state, "In fact, the word of God is being broadcast to every nation in the world here on 'SUNDAY MORNING'S COUNTRY' as a result of www.sundaymorningscountry.com."
"I'm honored and delighted to invite you to listen each week as we spread the gospel in song on our program. If you enjoy Christian Country, Bluegrass, and Southern Gospel Music, you're at the right spot."
